Charlie Update as of 1/7/14
If any of you have been following Charlie on our Face Book page we have an update. Charlie will be warm for the first time in a long time! He was surrendered today and Dora took him out of his outdoor unheated dog house and brought him to Brewer Veterinary Clinic where he will be evaluated get all of his medical needs taken care of and boarded until we can find him a forever home. Charlie is a 10 year old black lab, if you can help us with Charlie above his medical bill the cost to keep him warm is $16.00 a day and we would be grateful for any help! Donations can be made to: Keeping Charlie warm account of Dora Petry c/o Brewer Veterinary clinic 111 Pierce road, Brewer ME 04412 or you can call them at 207-989-6531 PLEASE help keep Charlie warm. THANK YOU!!
1/21/14 Charlie has been evaluated at Brewer Vet Clinic and it has been determined that Charlie would need to be the only dog in his new home. He shows some aggression towards other dogs, he does just fine with people.
12/25/13: Charlie spent Christmas warm and with a full belly, MERRY CHRISTMAS CHARLIE!!
12/26/13: Dora stopped in to see Charlie and he is adapting to his new surroundings while being evaluated by the veterinary staff. Charlie is scheduled for surgery Friday to be neutered and have a fatty tumor removed from his leg.
12/27/13: Charlie had his surgery today and everything went well, he was not very happy to have all of those tubes attached to him but he got thru it.
12/28/13: Charlie is recovering nicely from his surgeries and his doctor said he should be ready for his new home or foster home next week we will post what type of home Charlie will need to prosper soon. Charlie wants to thank everybody who has helped him to this point in keeping him warm and appreciates your continued support.
1/4/14: Charlie is doing well, he has recovered from his surgeries and is looking forward to finding his forever home.
1/5/14: Charlie is ready for a new home or a foster home, He will need a structured environment with guidelines and a little time and patients, remembering that he spent a long time tied to the end of a chain by himself. He is a good dog and we really want to find Charlie a home soon.
1/6/14: Charlie is a typical lab and he loves the water, he enjoys swimming and playing in and around the water.
1/7/14: If you would like to meet Charlie you can call the Brewer Veterinary Clinic at 207-989-6531 and schedule a time you can stop in and see him. Please remember it is costing $16.00 a day to keep him warm and fed so please help if you can and pass the word to your friends, with your help we can give Charlie the life he deserves. Thank you!
